Google Maps integration

The integration of Google Maps with existing web systems is one of the Google API development skills which Injoit team has mastered at a great professional level.

One of the recent projects completed by us is Frantsia.ru, a Wordpress MU powered web portal devoted to real estate and life in France. Integrating a Google map into it had required the following:

  • PHP + MySQL, Ajax (including sajax framework and its modification), Javascript DOM, Google map API (ggevent, gmarker, overlay, icon), markers generation (ChartAPI from Google)
  • working with Wordpress templates and Wordpress API
  • connection with Great Real Estate plugin (our modified version)
  • integration of what is seen on the map with our Ajax controls and search interfaces implemented within Wordpress templates
  • Properties get fetched from MLS

In the project, there are three map states depending on zoom level. Markers change their look through different map states while they represent geographical areas, sub-areas or properties.

Check the portfolio - Frantsia page to find out more about the project.

Apart from Google maps and Geo services implementation the developers from Injoit are constantly improving their skills with other amazing technologies provided by Google. Among them are: Apps (App Engine, Python + GQL), Gears,  GWT (Google Web Toolkit), OpenSocial, other APIs such as Google Visualization API. Recently (October 2008) Injoit contingent has visited the Google Development Day in  in Moscow, check our blog for details.

Stay tuned to find more great implementations!
